What are the password requirements?

  • Password is case sensitive.
  • Must be at least 12 characters long.
  • Must include at least 1 number.
  • The first character cannot be numeric.
  • The first character cannot be a symbol (non letter or number).
  • Must not repeat any character sequentially more than 2 times.
  • Must have at least 1 lowercase letter.
  • Must have at least 1 uppercase letter.
  • Must not include any of the following values: password test huskers admin
  • Must not include part of your name or user name.
  • Must not include a common word or commonly used sequence of characters.

How often do I have to change my password?

You will be prompted to change your password after 90 days. If you do not change your password when prompted, your account will be locked.
If you previously completed the Security Questions process by providing answers to three questions you can use that process to unlock your account.

How do I use 'Forgot Password?'

If you previously completed the Security Questions process by providing answers to three questions, you can click on Forgot Password?. The questions you selected will be presented. If you can enter the exact same answers, you will then be allowed to create a new password. If you have not previously completed the Security Questions process or if you cannot remember your answers, then you will need to contact your Help Desk to reset your password.

What if I mistype my password?

You have three attempts to enter the correct password. After a third failed attempt your account will be locked. If you previously completed the Security Questions process by providing answers to three questions you can use that process to unlock your account. If you are unable to unlock your account, contact your Help Desk.

How long will my account be active, if I haven't logged in recently?

If you do not log in for 90 days your account will be locked. If you previously completed the Security Questions process by providing answers to three questions you can use that process to unlock your account. If your account has been inactive for longer than 24 months, it may be deleted. If you are unable to unlock your account, contact your Help Desk.

What if I cannot remember my username?

Click on Forgot User ID?. Enter the Email Address and Last Name associated with your account. If you have multiple accounts attached to your email, contact your ARGUS administrator or your Help Desk.

What are the security question requirements?

  • Answers must be at least 5 characters.
  • Answers cannot be the same.
  • Answers are not case sensitive.

The first time I logged in I was immediately prompted to change my password, why?

When your account is created a temporary, one time only, password is also created and assigned to that account. At first login you are immediately prompted to change the password to insure that your password is known only by you. If you ever need to contact your Help Desk to get your password reset, you will again receive a temporary, one time only, password and on the next login you will again be prompted to immediately change the password to insure that only you know what the password is.

Sometimes I have to log in again while working in my application, Why?

Your session will time out after a period of inactivity in your application. When that happens you will be redirected to a login page and a successful login may return you to the same point in your application.

What URL should I bookmark?

When adding my.ne.gov to your Favorites you will want to remember to complete the login process before attempting to add to Favorites or create a Bookmark.
If you're comfortable adding to Favorites or creating a Bookmark manually, or want to edit an existing Favorite or Bookmark, the recommended URL is simply http://my.ne.gov
